These aren’t just stockings – they’re keepsakes, crafted with the same care and attention to detail that goes into every piece that leaves our Sedalia workshop. No matter what I’m making, my intention is to create meaningful pieces that tell a story and will be passed down from generation to generation.
How they are made:
Every piece begins with selecting the perfect hide. Just like choosing timber for our custom doors or selecting a beam for our chandeliers, this process can’t be rushed. I personally hand-tan each piece of leather, using techniques I learned from old-time saddle makers. The buffalo leather we use gets its distinctive character from the natural grain – you won’t find any artificial treatments here.
A Legacy of Craftsmanship
That rabbit fur cuff you see on our signature stockings? Each one is hand-sewn using the same intricate stitching pattern I developed while crafting guitar straps for professional musicians. The hardware is custom-forged, just like the pieces we create for our furniture. Every element is considered, every detail matters.
Time-Honored Techniques
Each stocking takes time to create. In an age of mass production, we’re still doing things the old way – not because it’s easier (it definitely isn’t), but because it’s better. The same attention to detail that goes into our my other work goes into these stockings. Creating something of value, means I don’t take shortcuts.
